Three civilians killed from the same family by a landmine of unidentified source in S. Deir Ez-Zour, April 3, 2025

On April 3, 2025, a man, identified as Mahmoud Mohammd al-Latif, his son, and his nephew, from al-Shula town in southern rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate were killed by a landmine of unidentified source in the badiya ‘desert area’ of al-Shula town. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.

SNHR calls on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas and identify the locations of landmines and remove them. We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions.
