Girl named Sham al-Hmadi killed by a landmien in E. Idlib, April 3, 2025
A girl, identified as 12-year-old Sham Hamdou al-Hmadi from Talmennes village in eastern rural Idlib governorate, was killed on April 3, 2025, by the explosion of a landmine of unidentified source in Talmennes village.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
SNHR calls on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas and identify the locations of landmines and remove them. We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
