A man, identified as Akram Abdul Rahim al-Ibrahim, was killed on April 1, 2025, by the explosion of a landmine of unidentified source while disarming landmines in the vicinity of al-Tayyim Oil Field in the southern badiya ‘desert area’ of Deir Ez-Zour in southern Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
