A man, identified as Ali al-Hejjou from al-Sheikh Hassan village in northern rural Raqqa governorate, was shot dead on February 17, 2025, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel who were stationed in al-Terwaziya village on the M4 Highway in Raqqa governorate as he was trying to enter the village. The area is under the control of SDF.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that SDF has violated international human rights law through this act of killing. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
