On October 28, 2024, an improvised explosive device (IED) of unidentified source was detonated near Mousa bin Nussair Mosque in al-Qosour neighborhood in Daraa city. The explosion slightly damaged the mosque’s windows. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.

We condemn all bombings in civilian populated areas. We call on the controlling force to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians. Syria will never have true stability without a genuine political transition process towards democracy within a fixed timetable.
