On October 1, 2024, the body of a man, identified as 19-year-old Osama al-Jawabra from al-Dara village in western rural Suwayda governorate, was found by local residents handcuffed and bearing gunshot wounds in eastern al-Mleiha al-Sharqiya town in eastern rural Daraa governorate. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Osama is a civilian who had never been involved with any military formation. However, he worked in the drug trade.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify Osama’s killers as of this writing, with the controlling forces bearing responsibility for identifying his killers.
