On September 10, 2024, a fire, caused by improper solar energy cable connections, broke out in a temporary housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Dar al-Keram Camp in Jabal Kelli district in northern rural Idlib governorate. While no casualties were recorded, the ceiling of the housing unit was destroyed in the blaze and the contents were heavily damaged. The area is under the control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) calls on international relief organizations to meet the IDP camps’ urgent basic needs, and to supply the camps’ administration with additional tents for emergencies.
