A man, identified as Mahmoud Mohammad Rabea Hasana from al-Jalloum al-Kubra neighborhood in Aleppo city, born in 1995, died on May 9, 2024, of wounds sustained on May 1, 2024, when he was shot by Syrian regime forces near Talkalakh city, which is by the Lebanese borders, in western Homs city, as he was trying to re-enter Lebanon after he was deported on April 28, 2024. Mahmoud was transferred to al-Bassel Hospital in Karm al-Louz neighborhood in Homs for treatment, but he later succumbed to his wound sand died. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Syrian regime forces, through this killing, have yet again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
