A man, identified as Abdullah Fadel al-Ja’dan, was critically injured on May 2, 2024, by a hand grenade thrown by an I.S.I.S personnel at his brother Jihad’s house in his home village of al-Hawayej in eastern rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate while Abdullah was inside. The area is under the control of Syrian Democratic Force (SDF).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.

SNHR notes that I.S.I.S has violated international human rights law through targeting civilians. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
