A six-year-old girl, identified as Raghad Jasser al-Waznat from Abu Hamam town in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was abducted on May 16, 2023, by gunmen we have not yet been able to identify in front of her school in her hometown. She was taken to an undisclosed location.

The area is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify her abductors as of this writing. We condemn all abductions and arbitrary arrests.
