A civilian born in 2001, Alaa Farhan Hamoud, from Sa’lou village east of Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was killed on October 18, 2022, by the explosion of a landmine planted by an unidentified source bear the international highway between Aleppo and Latakia governorate know as M4 in Ras al Ein area in Hasaka governorate northwestern suburbs, which is controlled by the Syrian National Army forces.

SNHR is still trying to reach out to witnesses to the incident for more details.

We have documented hundreds of deaths and injuries due to explosions of mines, which will continue to constitute a threat to the civilians in these areas, especially children, for years to come.
