Adnan Hamid Kiwan, a 45-year-old nurse from Tafas city in Daraa governorate western suburbs who had agreed a security settlement with Syrian regime forces previously, was shot and killed on October 13, 2022 by unidentified gunmen on the road between Tafas city and al Mzayreeb town in Daraa governorate western suburbs. The area is controlled by Syrian regime forces.

SNHR is still trying to reach out to eyewitnesses for more det ails.

SNHR condemns all killings of civilians and calls on the controlling forces to protect civilians in areas under their control, and to launch an investigation into the incident and reveal its results to the public.

There will be no stability in Syria without a genuine political transition process moving towards democracy, implemented according to a set timetable.
