Muhammad Khalaf al Ahmad was a 36-year-old primary school teacher from al Zer village in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate. SNHR documented that he was shot dead by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel during a SDF raid on al Medad neighborhood in al Sh-heil city in Deir Ez-Zour governorate, on May 18, 2020.
The SDF has committed a violation of international humanitarian law through this indiscriminate killing and the perpetrator must be held accountable.
