SNHR: Syrian regime forces raided on Zamalka town in Eastern Ghouta in east of Damascus suburbs governorate, on May 16. SNHR documented the arrest of six civilians, including an elderly man, who were taken to an undisclosed location.

SNHR notes that the arrests were conducted without any legal arrest warrants issued by a court, and without informing any members of the detainees’ families of  their arrest, while  their phones were confiscated, preventing them from contacting their families or lawyers. SNHR fears that they will be subjected to torture and ultimately classified as forcibly ‘disappeared’ like approximately 85 percent of those detained by the regime.
