The body of an Iraqi refugee, named as Khaled al Hamid, was discovered in Section Three of al Hawl IDP Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate on November 28, 2021, bearing gunshot wounds.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the civilian’s killing, the area is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
