Unidentified gunmen stormed the Abu Hamam Primary School for boys in Abu Hamam city in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate on August 3, 2021 damaging and sabotaging some of the school’s furniture and removing its main door. The area is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces, with SNHR still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns the attack on the school, and calls on the controlling forces to conduct investigations into all such incidents and hold the perpetrators accountable.
