This photo shows citizens crowd in a center for elections of members of the People’s Assembly of the Syrian regime in its third legislative session which violates of all the precautionary measures introduced to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic among the public. SNHR notes that the government of the Syrian regime has set 19 July to begin elections of the People’s Assembly, according to Decree No. 121 of 2020, ignoring the measures to end the crowding of citizens and abide them to wear masks which is a stark violation of the most important precautionary measures which are supposed to be taken to stop the spread of the disease. We note that the cases of people wo were infected in areas under the Syrian regime’s control are constantly increasing and have reached 496 cases, including 25 deaths, as of the date of this news, according to the Syrian Ministry of Health. We confirm that a regime responsible for the killing of hundreds of thousands of Syrians and the displacement of 12 million refugees and IDPs will not care of his people.
The Syrian regime failed to stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic among Syrian citizens as he neglects to apply the precautionary measures stipulated by the World Health Organization.
