Man named Hussein al-Hamdou and Ahmad al-Jasim killed, six others injured by a landmine of unidentified source in S. Aleppo, March 9, 2025

On March 9, 2025, two men, identified as Hussein Ali al-Hamdou and Ahmad Mohammad al-Jasim from al-Hazani village in southern rural Aleppo governorate were killed, and six others were injured, by a landmine of unidentified source that exploded under their car in Mahmiyet al-Raghal area to the south of Khanaser town in southern rural Aleppo governorate. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
SNHR calls on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas and identify the locations of landmines and remove them. We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
