On March 20, 2025, the dead body of a man, identified as Firas Mahrouq from Hama city’s al-Arba’in neighborhood who worked at the Public Sewerage Company in Hama city, was found by local residents on Hama city’s eastern outskirts. Firas’s body was found approximately 10 days after he had been abducted by unidentified gunmen in Douar al-Jub area in Hama city. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify who is responsible for Firas’s death as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying his killers.
