A man, identified as Yasser Hashem al-Hussein from Qeblhat village in eastern rural Hama governorate, and his daughter were killed on March 19, 2025, by a landmine of unidentified source that exploded under their motorbike in Dwizin district in eastern Hama governorate. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
SNHR calls on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas and identify the locations of landmines and remove them. We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
