On February 14, 2025, the dead body of a man, identified as Ali Abdullah al-Qasem from Shlouh village in western rural Homs governorate, was found bearing gunshot wounds by local residents in one of the orchards of Shlouh village. Ali had gone missing after he left his village. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify who is responsible for Ali’s death as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying his killers.
