A woman, identified as 65-year-old Nadima Akal al-Awad from Sfuhin village in southern rural Idlib governorate, died on February 1, 2025, of wounds sustained two days earlier, January 30, when she was hit with gunfire of unidentified source in Sarmada city in northern rural Idlib governorate. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify who is responsible for Nadima’s death as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying her killers.
