On February 3, 2025, a car bomb was detonated near another car that was transporting civilians near the main road at Manbij city’s southern entrance in eastern rural Aleppo governorate. In an initial estimate by the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), The bombing killed 16 civilians, including 14 women and a girl, while 16 others, all women and children, were injured to varying degree. The area where the bombing took place is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

SNHR has not yet been able to identify which party was responsible for the bombing as of this writing, nor has any party claimed responsibility. SNHR is still investigating this incident.
SNHR condemns all bombings targeting civilians and vital facilities. We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities for protecting civilians in their areas, to investigate this incident, and to make the findings of the investigation known to the public.
