A man, identified as Jehad Saber Haj Qaddour from Tal Ref’at city in northern rural Aleppo governorate who was a member of the Syrian National Army (SNA), was killed on January 9, 2025, by the explosion of a landmine of unidentified source while disarming landmines in Tal Madiq village in northern Aleppo governorate. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
