A man, identified as 58-year-old Abdul Hamid Rashid Mustafa Akilou from Qourna village in the rural areas of Afrin city in northwestern Aleppo governorate, was shot dead on January 7, 2025, by unidentified gunmen from a passing motorbike in Qourna village. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
