On December 7, 2024, a man, identified as Abdul Qader al-Abrash from al-Sfira city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, was killed alongside his sister Fadila and child Ibrahim, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) who opened fire directly at the three after expelling them from their house in Um Zalila village to the west of Deir Hafer town in eastern Aleppo governorate. The area is under the control of SDF.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that SDF have violated international human rights law through this act of killing. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
