On October 14, 2024, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) used a rocket launcher to fire 16 rockets at the road connecting the two villages of Um Adasa and Jub al-Na’san in eastern rural Aleppo governorate. One of the shells struck a car, injuring eight civilians, including two children. The area targeted is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that, through this attack, the SDF has unequivocally violated UN Security Council resolutions 2139 and 2254, which prohibit indiscriminate attacks.
The SDF has also violated the rules of international humanitarian law on distinguishing between civilians and members, which only aims to spread panic among civilians.
