A woman, identified as 20-year-old Makarem al-Thaher al-Fallaj from al-Jarthi al-Sharqi village in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was killed on September 25, 2024, by gunshot of unidentified source while in her house in her home village. The area is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify Makarem’s killers as of this writing. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibility in identifying her killers.
