On June 18, 2024, two children, identified as Mohammad Fadi al-Dali and Haytham Farhan al-Dali from Souran city in northern rural Hama governorate, were killed while three others were injured in an initial estimation, by the explosion of a war remnant of unidentified source in an agricultural land to the south of Souran city. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that war remnants continue to pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives. We have released numerous reports on cluster munitions and other war remnants, calling for securing equipment to help local residents to safely dispose of the various explosive remnants.
