On February 9, 2024, a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) artillery detachment used heavy machine guns to target the Nahr al-Furat ‘Euphrates River’ Water Station in Jarablos city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, causing moderate partial damage to the solar energy system feeding the station. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that the station processes and pumps drinking water from the Euphrates River to Jarablos city and the surrounding rural areas.

SNHR condemns this attack on the station, and holds the SDF responsible for what happened. SNHR calls on the group to launch an investigation into this incident.
