A civilian man and woman, identified respectively as Hesham al-Shtar and Amal Shtiwi al-Alloush, were killed on February 8, 2024, by stray gunfire amidst infighting between two Syrian regime groups, affiliated respectively with the regime’s Military Security Intelligence Directorate and its State Security forces, in al- Sanamayn city in northern rural Daraa governorate. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) condemns the incident, and holds the controlling forces responsible for holding the perpetrators accountable.
