A man named as Hadi al-Yazji, from Raqqa city, was shot dead on January 1, 2023 by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel who fired on the car he was travelling in on the M4 international highway near al-Trowaziya village, which is located to the north of Raqqa city.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights notes that, through this act of killing, the SDF has violated international human rights law, and emphasizes that the perpetrators must be held accountable.
