Jehad Abdul Qader Ghazal, from Kafr Ta’al village, western suburbs of Aleppo governorate. He was killed on November 18, 2022, by a landmine, whose source we have not been able to identify yet, as he was picking olives in an agricultural land on the outskirts of the village, which is under the joint control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain information about the incident.

We call on the controlling parties to uphold their responsibilities to protect civilians living in areas under their control, to disclose the locations of landmines, and to work on properly removing them.

We have documented hundreds of deaths and injuries resulting from landmine explosions, with these mines continuing to pose a serious threat to the lives of residents, especially children, that will last for years.
