Abdul Hamid Attallah al Jasem, a nurse from Hatla village in Deir Ez-Zour governorate’s eastern suburbs, was arrested by Syrian regime forces personnel in a raid on his home in the village, on September 14, 2022, and taken to an undisclosed location.

The arrest wasn’t carried out in accordance with a court warrant, and the detainee’s family wasn’t informed of his arrest, with the Syrian regime forces personnel confiscating the detainee’s phone and refusing to allow him to contact any lawyer or members of his family. We fear he may be subjected to torture and go on to be forcibly disappeared, as has happened with 85% of those detained individuals.

SNHR calls for financial and psychological restitution for all Syrian regime forces’ victims and their families, as well as for an end to all arbitrary detentions, and demands that the fate of thousands of individuals forcibly disappeared by the Syrian regime forces be revealed.
