The Syrian Network for Human Rights documented the killing...

A girl, identified as Hanan Abdou from Darkir village (administratively a part of Afrin city in northwestern Aleppo governorate), in sixth grade, born in 2010, an internally displaced person (IDP) living in Ein al-Arab ‘Kubani” city in eastern rural Aleppo, was abducted on April 5, 2025, for military conscription, by the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) al-Shabiba al-Thawriya, (Revolutionary Youth) faction, also known as the ‘Joanne Schurchkar’, after she had been lured by them in Ein al-Arab city. She was then taken to an SDF recruitment camp.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Hana’s family has not been notified of what has happened to her, and she is forbidden to contact them or receive any visits from them. We are concerned that she will be forced to participate in direct and indirect military action.

It should be noted that approximately 413 children are currently conscripted in SDF military training camps.
