Rather, these cases primarily occurred on March 6, 7, 8, and 9. We were unable to document them earlier due to immense challenges outlined in our detailed report, including the inability to access or communicate with remote villages, security conditions, and other obstacles.)
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has documented the killing of 1,332 people between March 6, 2025 up to date, distributed as follows:
- Assad regime remnants (non-state armed gangs linked to the former Assad regime): These groups killed at least 445 people, divided into
214 General Security personnel.
231 civilians.
- Armed forces involved in military crackdown against Assad regime remnants.
These forces included: Military factions, armed local residents (both Syrian and foreign), General Security personnel. These groups killed at least 887 people, including civilians and disarmed Assad regime remnants. The vast majority of these killings were carried out by military factions that recently joined the General Security authority.
It is extremely difficult to distinguish between civilians and disarmed Assad regime, as the latter were wearing civilian clothing.
Clarification
It should be noted that this toll does not include the deaths of Assad regime remnants (non-state armed gangs linked to the former Assad regime) who were killed during combat, as such deaths are not considered violation of the law.
