On March 21, 2025, a man, identified as Mahmoud Mustafa Abdou from al-Hamboushiya village in western rural Idlib governorate, was killed and his brother Mohamad injured by the explosion of a landmine of unidentified source in Ein al-Ashra village in rural Latakia governorate. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas, investigate this incident, and make the findings available to the public.
