On January 16, 2025, the bodies of two men, identified as Mohammad Mahmoud al-Mleih and Ahmad Saeed Alaya both from Douma city in eastern Rural Damascus governorate, were found bearing gunshot wounds by local on the outskirts of Qasyoun road in M’arba in northern Rural Damascus governorate. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to determine who was responsible for Mohammad’s and Ahmad’s deaths. The controlling forces must uphold their responsibilities in identifying their killers.
