A man, identified as Mohammad Saeed Mohammad Uqda from Harbal village in northern rural Aleppo governorate, was killed on January 8, 2025, by the explosion of a landmine of unidentified source that detonated under a tractor while he was cultivating his agricultural land in Harbal village. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
SNHR calls on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas and identify the locations of landmines and remove them. We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
