A man, identified as Mohammad Shuaib al-Medad from Theyban town in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate and lives in Hasaka city, was shot and killed on December 12, 2024, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel as they were trying to break up demonstrations in Ghwayran neighborhood in the middle of Hasaka city. The area is under the control of SDF.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that SDF have violated international human rights law through this act of killing. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
