On December 9, 2024, a drone, suspectedly operated by Turkish forces, attacked Hemar Jees village to the south of Manbij city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, killing three civilians. The area targeted is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Turkish forces have violated international humanitarian law by killing civilians through this indiscriminate or deliberate bombardment, as they have failed to distinguish between civilians and fighters.
