A man, identified as Washah Marwan Naffa, from Amtan village in southern rural Suwayda governorate and lived in Suwayda governorate, was shot and killed on December 6, 2024, in the crossfire between unidentified gunmen and Syrian regime forces that took place in the vicinity of al-Qalaa military point in the center of Suwayda city. Sixteen others were also injured. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not been able which of the two parties were responsible for Washah’s death. We condemn what happened, and hold the controlling forces responsible for holding the perpetrators accountable.
