A man, identified as Mohammad al-Jasim al-Medhesh from al-Jarthi town in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was shot and killed on December 4, 2024, by a Syrian regime forces sniper who was stationed in al-Husainiya village in western Deir Ez-Zour governorate, while Mohammad was passing through al-Shehabat village in western Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Syrian regime forces have violated international human rights law through this act of killing. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
