On November 24, 2024, Syrian National Army (SNA) artillery forces fired multiple shells at Tal Ref’at city in northern rural Aleppo governorate, injuring four civilians, including a girl. The attack also partially destroyed a number of houses. The area targeted is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that, through this attack, SNA has unequivocally violated UN Security Council resolutions 2139 and 2254, which prohibit indiscriminate attacks.
The SNA has also violated the rules of international humanitarian law on distinguishing between civilians and members, which only aims to spread panic among civilians.
