On October 12, 2024, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) used a rocket launcher to fire a rocket at al-Baldaq village in the rural areas of Jarablos city in eastern Aleppo governorate. The attack injured a boy, identified as 15-year-old Mohammad Nasser Sheikh Mohammad, who was then transferred to a hospital in Jarablos city for treatment. The area targeted is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that, through this attack, the SDF has unequivocally violated UN Security Council resolutions 2139 and 2254, which prohibit indiscriminate attacks.
The SDF has also violated the rules of international humanitarian law on distinguishing between civilians and members, which only aims to spread panic among civilians.
