On August 21, 2024, a motorbike bomb exploded in the crowded al-Sarfis Street in al-Ashrafiya neighborhood in Afrin city in northern rural Aleppo governorate. One civilian was injured in the bombing, while the goods of a number of street vendors, and some shops were damaged. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.

We condemn all bombings that target civilians and vital facilities. We call on the controlling forces uphold their responsibilities for protecting civilians in their areas, to investigate this incident, and to make the investigation’s findings known to the public. Syria will never have true stability without a genuine political transition process towards democracy within a fixed timetable.
