A man, identified as Fadi Mohammad Raed Barakat from Hraitan town in northern rural Aleppo governorate, died on April 4, 2024, of wounds sustained on March 31, 2024, when a car bomb of as yet unidentified source exploded in the crowded main market of Izaz city in northern rural Aleppo governorate. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
SNHR condemns all bombings targeting civilians and vital facilities. We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities for protecting civilians in their areas, to investigate this incident, and to make the findings of the investigation known to the public. Syria will never have true stability without a genuine political transition process towards democracy within a fixed timetable.
