A man, identified as Sam’ou Yousef al-Shwyekh from al-Jasmiya village to the east of Manbij city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate was shot and killed on January 9, 2025, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel who shot him directly after refusing to surrender himself in a raid on his house in al-Jasmiya village. The area is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that SDF has violated international human rights law through this act of killing. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
