A man, identified as Majd Da’ar al-Ibeid al-Nasser, was shot dead on March 31, 2024, by a Syrian regime sniper while he was fishing on the bank of the Euphrates River in al-Jneina town in western rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that, through this act of killing, Syrian regime forces have violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
