A boy, identified as Nawwar Mahmoud al-Wardi, was shot dead with a 23mm machine gun on March 20, 2024, near the al-Gharbi Mosque in his home village of al-Oulashali in al-Bab area in eastern rural Aleppo governorate. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) suspects that the gunfire came from either Syrian regime forces or Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel, since it originated from the direction of areas under their control. Investigations are still ongoing to identify the party responsible.
